Moyca, a table grape production company, has started a project on two hectares of one of its farms in Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia) through which it will grow the Sweet Celebration  variety without traces of pesticides or fungicides. The initiative, which is already active and will culminate in August, aims to put healthier products on the market for consumers, while taking care of the biodiversity of the environment.

In order to carry it out, Moyca will follow the instructions of Zerya, the company promoting the initiative, in terms of the use of fertilizers and phytosanitary products. Once finished and after analysing the fruit obtained, the entity will issue a certificate accrediting the results obtained.

Obtaining this accreditation will allow Moyca to become the first table grape producing company certified by Zerya, which will open the door to new commercial opportunities in international markets.

The head of the Food Safety and Process Systems department, Alejandro Riquelme, highlighted the value of this project as “a way to continue betting on sustainability and offer our customers grapes of the highest quality without forgetting to take care of the environment that surrounds us”.

Para poder llevarlo a cabo, Moyca seguirá las instrucciones de Zerya, empresa promotora de la iniciativa, en cuanto a utilización de fertilizantes y fitosanitarios. Una vez terminado y tras analizar la fruta obtenida, la entidad emitirá un certificado que acredite los resultados obtenidos.

La obtención de esta acreditación permitirá a Moyca convertirse en la primera empresa productora de uva de mesa certificada por Zerya, lo que le abrirá la puerta a nuevas oportunidades comerciales en mercados internacionales.

El responsable del departamento de Sistemas de Seguridad Alimentaria y Procesos, Alejandro Riquelme, ha destacado el valor de este proyecto como “una forma de seguir apostando por la sostenibilidad y ofrecer a nuestros clientes uva de la más alta calidad sin olvidarnos de cuidar el entorno que nos rodea”.
